Photography

What a beautiful world our God has made, I have been swept away by his astounding creation this last week. On Wednesday there was fog for me to attempt to capture the beauty of, on Thursday I was up early and got some pictures of a corn field while the sun was rising and this morning I got up as the sun was rising and spent about an hour outside taking photos, I really am loving having a nice camera to try to capture the beauty that God has created.

So here are some of the pictures that I have taken this week, You can click on the photos to enlarge them.

This week was a lot of fun, on Thursday Pam and I went to Grandma James's and we made 50 pies in a little over 5 hours :P It was Don and Tara's birthdays this week so we had a birthday celebration last weekend and then went out twice this week with different people to celebrate.

I am glad that it is the weekend though, Because it means that i will have time to do homework and maybe clean the house and cook Andy some real meals.

Tonight I made Banana muffins and for supper we are going to have twice baked potatoes and Tacos :)

I have been listening to the Audio bible that I bought last week and i LOVE it! I am mostly an audio learner so having it to listen to has really gotten it into my mind, I have been listening to the new testement and I am really it! I would highly recommend the version that I am listening to, it doesn't have the phony background music that some versions seam to have. I my bible called the ESV hear the word audio book at christianaudio.com.

Fall is on its way

Fall is coming to the country side, the trees are just starting to turn colors. I can't wait for the beauty of fall to be here. I love the colors of the trees during this season and I am looking forward to capturing it all with my camera in fun new ways.

This week was once again busy, I did about 5 hours of homework on Tuesday, on Wednesday I had class 8 to 5 and brought a friend to Prepare bible study, she seemed to really like it and I am excited to see what the Lord is going to do in her heart. Thursday I made lunch for the guys (Andy, Don and Reed), did a little bit of homework and bought the ESV Audio book Bible.
I used the Bible yesterday and I love it, I'm excited to have the opportunity to listen to the word on my way to and from school, and my goal is to have the whole bible listened to at least once by the end of the school year, though I would love to have it all listened to by the end of the year! :D

I discovered the best chicken I've had in a long time this week! it is a baked chicken with homemade barbecue sauce. here is the recipe from cooks.com
     Chicken parts (breasts, legs, drumsticks)
1/2 c. ketchup
1 tbsp. mustard
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. water
Bake chicken pieces at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Drain off fat. Combine above ingredients for sauce. Bring to a low boil. Cover chicken with sauce and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
I used chicken quarters and cooked the sauce on top for 30 min instead of the 15 and it became almost like a glaze and was really good :P (probably my favorite chicken)

Today I am going to be working on a lot of homework, I have 3 tests next week and two projects due at the end of the week so it will once again be a busy week :p

At some point this week I would like to process some apples and then barrow Pam's dehydrator and make some dried apples :) but we will have to see how the homework goes for that one.

I'm thinking about doing a Daniel fast (only eating fruits and veggies) this week but not sure if I am up to it yet. I don't know that much about it and I think it would be really hard to have to cook two different meals every night (one for Andy and one for me).

Recovery week?

It has been a busy week, Sunday we had Brynlie's Birthday party which was a lot of fun. The girls are so cute and I love being around them and playing with them. Payton loved turning the bouncer off and on and climbing around inside of it while it collapsed ontop of her and a friend.

Brynlie had a fun time watching Payton play
on the bouncer and I got some darling pictures
of her on the slide with our new camera.

Monday was a long day at school but Tuesday I didn't have much homework and was able to clean out the entry way (hadn't been done since before we moved in), rest while watching a little TV and get homework done.
Wednesday was even longer than Monday as I had class all day, went to bible study, then did some shopping and didn't get home till 8:30.
Thursday I did some canning with Grandma James!!! We had a lot of fun and got a lot done. We made spaghetti sauce, apple sauce and canned some diced tomatoes. Grandpa helped run the apple peeler while grandma and I cut off the bad parts and tops that didn't get peeled.

I was at Grandma's at 9 and didn't get home till 5:45 and we had company coming at 7:30 or 8 so I was a busy cooking and cleaning when I got home. Scott and Sarah (A married couple that Andy went to high school with) got here at about 7:45 and stayed till close to 11.

Today I had class from 12:20 to 2:20, and I managed to be 2 min late to the first class :( ops! But the teacher didn't seam to mind so that was good. After classes I went to Marices to get some jeans (I worn out/ripped most of mine) but I didn't find any for a good enough price.
When I got home I started some homework but I felt so tired that I decided to instead take a bath while watching an episode of Cover Affairs on my computer (that's what the chair is for).

So homework will have to wait until tomorrow because I don't think i'll get much done tonight.

Pig Roast weekend

The pig roast was a lot of fun even tho it was a lot of work. We estimate (via a guest book) that there were about 250 people there. Uncle Greg and Grandma James helped us all out tremendously with the clean up. We got the tent down and put away, all the tables and chairs down and everything cleaned up last night. Which normally is left for us to do today.
It was fun to sit and visit with people, I got a chance to talk to Andre Oldberg, who works at Philips Plastics in New Richmond as an Engineer and he said that he would keep an eye out and ask around about any internship importunity's. Jeremy and Kelsey came to the pig roast so it was a lot of fun to visit with them, and then they came over to our house and got a tour :)

Payton and Brynlie were adorable this weekend, we are having Brynlie's birthday party tonight as she is turning 2 this next week.

And we now have an outdoor cat. It showed up last week and we have decided to feed it and keep it around to keep mice away.

I think i am going to name her Snickers but not quite sure yet.

O and these pictures are taken from our new camera. :D which we finally got on Friday.

First Day

Well the first day of classes went well. The drive in was beautiful, and I was wishing I had a camera to take some pictures of the fog that we floating in some of the fields.
It is going to be a tough semester but I think it will be good, I'm taking two math classes (Differential Equations and Stats for Engineers) and then two very math related courses (Physics II and Engineering Mechanics). So lots of Math, but I think it will be good to have everything all at once cause then I will really concentrate on it and its always in my head. I do have one non-math related course, Its called Material Removal and Forming, its a metals class and we will get to make a mini canon and some other fun things. I am really looking forward to that class as I think it will be an easy A and will be a lot of fun.

Girls.... well, there aren't many girls in my classes: even fewer than last year. I don't have any in the metals class (which stinks cause we'll be working with a lot of machines) and I have one girl comrade in each of the other classes (ha and one girl is in two classes - so I only have 3 other girls to talk to all day) :p it feels strange now but I am sure once I get to know a few of the guys it will be a lot better.

Andy and I bought a nice camera, it comes with a standard lens and then we also got a long zoom lens. We used the money that we got from returning the other camera and some gift cards to get it so it didn't cost us anything. Pam went and picked it up yesterday, as she was in Eau Claire, and Sears gave her the wrong camera! They gave her the right lens but not the right camera, so tomorrow before classes (they don't start till 12:20 on friday) I am going to run to Eau Claire to pick up the right one and give them back the wrong one.

A Beautiful Weekend

Andy and I had a good weekend, I got a lot more of the wedding thank you notes done and only have about 10 or so left to write :D which I hope to get done in the next 24 hours thus completing my goal of having them done before school starts :)
Holly, Nat and the girls came up Saturday night and just left about an hour ago, It was very fun to see them all again, the girls are getting so big and Brynlie is starting to talk more and she can understand so much. They got to see our house for the first time and Payton was excited to see everything and how different it looked from the construction stage.

On Sunday I was able to help Cassandra move into her dorm room and then go to a Comican family lunch at Uncle Greg's and then supper at Don and Pam's.

This coming week will be busy as we are having the pig roast on Saturday at 1:00, it is going to be extra busy because Don is laid up. Andy is already doing his and Don's work and now will be even busier with this. Pam and I will be busy figuring out food and setting up tables and chairs.

Andy and I got a really nice camera for a wedding present from his parents, however the shutter was acting funny so we returned it and now are looking to buy one. This weekend sears has a sale on Cameras and a deal where if you buy a camera you can get 100 off a Lens so I'm hoping we will be able to get the camera we want and an extra lens that well have nice zoom on it :) Then these posts will start to have some fun pictures in them.
